Set up in 2006, Microsoft Innovation Centre Singapore is part of the global network of 60 Microsoft Innovation Centres (MICs) set up with the primary objective of supporting and growing local software companies through partnerships with government, academia, and the industry.
Supported by the Economic Development Board, the Microsoft Innovation Centre Singapore acts as a collaborative and creative "hotbed" for developers, students and entrepreneurs to plan, research, develop and deploy novel software solutions to fuel long-term innovation and economic growth, helping to strengthen the software development community and multiply the interactions of academic and industrial participants, resulting in a more vibrant and self-sustaining industrial cluster.
The goal of MIC is to generate demonstrable evidence of our partnerships, MIC help ISVs strengthen business and technology offerings, and their partnership strategy, where the MIC becomes a hub where ISVs can engage other members of the economy, supporting commercial software companies bringing innovative solutions to market.
MICSG web site is a Proof of Concept (POC) web application developed by Microsoft developer intern Huang Sile on the Windows Azure CTP Hosting Account in 2009. Followed the release of Azure SDK when the Azure Services Platform was commercially launched in Feb 2010 and the release of ASP.NET MVC2, this web site (based on helper client and ASP.NET MVC1) was decommissioned from the Windows Azure Hosting Account and currently deployed onto a non-Azure shared hosting environment.The source code is available at the Download page.
